After being shortlisted for several awards over the summer, our renewable products and Energy Label are again up for more industry accolades. Head of Marketing Mike Shirley discusses how our products are continuing to gain momentum.
2016 has been a great year for renewables, with some of the world’s biggest brands committing to power their operations with clean electricity.
Apple, Walmart and Starbucks have recently committed to renewable electricity, joining the likes of Ikea, Aviva, Land Securities and Google.
This year has also been very successful for SmartestEnergy, with our renewable products driving increased transparency in the market and our launch of the UK’s first Energy Labels for renewable electricity supply.
Our efforts were recognised with nominations for several awards over the summer, including The Guardian Sustainable Business Awards, and we now have three new nominations to add to the list - BusinessGreen Technology Awards, The Energy Awards and Edie Sustainability Leaders Awards.
It is really great to see that some of the leading stakeholders in our industry have recognised that we are doing something unique with our renewable products and are supporting us to engage with businesses about renewable electricity.
Raising awareness of our products and Energy Labels allows us to engage with more businesses and educate them about what to look for when buying renewable electricity.
It also enables us to engage with our fellow suppliers to discuss the measures they are taking to provide transparency around their renewable supply to help their customers.
All of this conversation and debate is crucial to driving real change in our industry, pushing renewables up the agenda and making it easier for businesses to confidently buy renewable electricity.
If you are attending any of these industry awards ceremonies, please get in touch on LinkedIn and we can arrange to meet for a discussion on renewable electricity!
