Dong agrees Race Bank wind farm stake sale
Danish developer Dong Energy has sold a 50% stake in its Race Bank wind farm off the coast Skegness to Australian infrastructure investor Macquarie.
The 573MW wind farm is due to be completed in 2018.
The deal was valued at £1.6 billion.

Neville-Rolfe moves on from BEIS
Baroness Neville-Rolfe has left her post as Energy Minister at the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to become Commercial Secretary at the Treasury.
She has been replaced by Lord Prior of Brampton as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at BEIS.
Their appointments were made as part of a series of ministerial changes.

UK’s first commercial wind farm celebrates 25-year milestone
Delabole, the UK’s first commercial wind farm, has celebrated its 25th birthday.
The Cornish site’s first turbines were erected by the Edwards family in 1991 and the wind farm was bought by Good Energy in 2002.
Good Energy replaced the farm’s turbines between 2009 and 2011 to more than double its capacity to 9.2MW.

Smart meter installations jump
Large energy companies installed 815,000 domestic smart meters during the third quarter of 2015, consisting of 461,300 electricity meters and 353,700 gas meters.
A total of 13,600 smart and advanced meters were installed in non-domestic sites during the same period.
The total number of smart meters installed in Great Britain has now risen to 4.05 million.

Refinancing deal for Scottish wind farm
Italian developer Falck Renewables has sealed a £42.3 million deal with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and Banco de Sabadell to refinance its Assel Valley wind farm in South Ayrshire.
The ten-turbine wind farm has been operating since October 2016 and has a capacity of 25MW.
Paolo Rundeddu, Chief Financial Officer at Falck Renewables, said: “With Assel Valley closing, we completed with no delays all the activities we announced to the market for 2016.”
