Managing your account

The utility

After your contract is signed, we will submit an enrollment request to the utility to align with your specified start date. The utility will then assign the official start date. 

A letter confirmation

Once your enrolment is accepted and the switch is completed, the utility will send you a letter confirming the start of your service.

The first meter reading

Smartest will receive the first meter reading 30 days after your service start date.

The initial invoice

Within 1 to 2 business days after Smartest receives the first meter reading, the initial invoice will be processed. 

Receiving an invoice

Depending on the billing type you selected, you will receive an invoice either directly from Smartest or from the utility.

Payment

Typically, payment is due within 20 days of the invoice date, though this may vary depending on the utility. 

Continuous process

The meter reading and invoicing process will continue seamlessly throughout the duration of your contract. 

Renewal options

A few months before your contract expires, your broker will contact you to discuss renewal options for continuing service with SmartestEnergy.
