Giving Back with a NSW Foodbank Drive

14th December 2022

The NSW SmartestEnergy Team Foodbank Drive

As part of of SmartestEnergy's Giving Something Back initiative, the SmartestEnergy team in Sydney launched a Foodbank food collection drive running on World Food Day (16th October 22) to mid-December. As this year has been particularly challenging for a lot of people, with financial pressures meaning that more people than ever have been relying on charity and social support, we wanted to contribute to this nationwide charity that we see doing such good in the local community and further afield.

During the food collection drive, we successfully donated and delivered 82 kgs of non-perishable items for those who need them the most. Take a look at the photos below of our team in action delivering the donated items!

About Foodbank:

The chosen charity for this drive was Foodbank, Australia’s largest food relief charity, nationally rescuing and distributing more than 42 million kilos of food and groceries annually. Foodbank provides food for 77 million meals a year or 210,000 meals a day to over 2,400 charities and 2,000 schools for distribution to people in need of food relief. They achieve this by working with the Australian food and grocery industry which provides surplus and donated product. They also collaborate with farmers, manufacturers, suppliers and the government on programs to produce key staple foods such as breakfast cereals, milk, pasta, canned foods and sausages.
