James joined SmartestEnergy in 2012 as a Business Development Manager after more than a decade’s experience working in the energy sector and later became Head of Direct Sales.
In his current role he is responsible for delivery of sales through SmartestEnergy’s Smart Generation function. His role focuses on working with customers to deliver value from flexibility across generation and demand response.
His career in the energy industry has seen him hold senior roles with companies including Reactive Technologies and Bergen Energi.
Angus Widdowson joined SmartestEnergy as a Generation Account Manager in October 2014, providing Power Purchase Agreements for independent generators across Great Britain.
He works with generators to develop solutions to help them maximise returns in a changing environment for renewable projects.
Prior to joining SmartestEnergy, Angus spent four years developing and operating an extensive range of wind turbines, hydro schemes and biogas plants across the UK.
Christian works with owners of flexible assets and portfolios to maximise value through the development of innovative contracts.
He joined SmartestEnergy in 2017, bringing 20 years’ commercial experience in the energy sector.
Christian previously worked as a Major Transactions Specialist for E.ON in Germany. Other roles for E.ON have included responsibility for its renewable energy sales of its European portfolio. He has also served as chairman of the board of the Non-Fossil Purchasing Agency and held senior roles with United Utilities.
Boz is responsible for analysing market opportunities to help asset owners maximise revenues.
His role includes the continued development of processes and systems to enable customers to always optimise their positions and he also liaises with National Grid and DNOs to ensure access to all relevant opportunities.
Boz joined SmartestEnergy from KiWi Power where he was Head of UK Operations. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northeastern University, USA and a Master of Science in Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment from University College London.
Robert joined SmartestEnergy in 2017 and is responsible for the development and delivery of bespoke Power Purchase Agreements (PPA).
With almost two decades of experience in the energy sector, he has significant expertise in originating and closing long term, bank financed agreements.
Robert was previously with Total Gas & Power where he spearheaded the building of its UK-based renewable energy portfolio, and also held a number of senior positions in both I&C retail and procurement.
He holds a BA (Hons) in Economics and Public Policy from Leeds Metropolitan University.
Matt Neve joined SmartestEnergy in 2008 and has been in his current role as Business Development Manager in the Generation Sales team since 2010. In this role, Matt works closely with generation customers across Great Britain, negotiating and structuring Power Purchase Agreements to help them maximise the return on their projects.
Prior to joining SmartestEnergy, Matt was part of the B2B Industrial & Commercial Sales Team working in Commercial Pricing and Account Management at E.ON Energy.
James works closely with existing generation customers to ensure their accounts are managed to a high standard. He also builds relationships with new customers to help them maximise their strategies to sell power.
He joined SmartestEnergy in 2017 from EDF Energy where as Export Originator he was responsible for working with operators of renewable & CHP generating stations, TPIs and Energy Traders. His previous roles with the company included Senior Renewable Generation Analyst.
James has a BA (Hons) Business Studies from Nottingham Trent University.
James is responsible for a number of renewable generation accounts, as well as identifying, developing and growing business opportunities such as PPAs with generators and TPIs.
James initially joined SmartestEnergy in 2015 as a Sales Support Executive, having previously worked at Suffolk County Council as a Public Sector Procurement Officer.
Moving into Account Management in October 2018, he now regularly attends industry events, providing a recognised point of contact for SmartestEnergy’s renewable customers.
