Senior figures from the UK’s green economy have been recognised with awards in the New Year’s honours List.
Tom Delay, Chief Executive at The Carbon Trust, was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for “services to sustainability in business”.
Shaun Kingsbury, former Chief Executive at the Green Investment Bank, also received a CBE for “services to the UK green economy”.
Kingsbury stood down from his role following the bank’s sale to Australian investment firm Macquarie, which has renamed the outfit as Green Investment Group.
Two high-profile figures were also made Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
Joanne Wade, Chief Executive at the Association for the Conservation of Energy ACE), received her award for her “services to energy efficiency”.
Sally Uren, Chief Executive at the Forum for the Future, received the same honour, with her citation recognising her “services to sustainability practice in business”.
