This modification mandates the transition of both existing current transformer (CT) advanced meters and new CT meter connections to a half-hourly basis starting from 15 April 2024.

Integration and Benefits of P432

P432 is designed to incentivize suppliers to introduce new tariffs for small business customers. This change aims to promote flexible energy usage and reduce bills, offering significant benefits to both consumers and suppliers.

What to Expect

If you've received an email from us recently, it means we need to update your meter to comply with P432. In most cases, we'll be able to reprogram your meter remotely. However, if remote reprogramming isn't possible, we'll need to update your meter manually to ensure accurate billing.

Steps to Take

  1. Contact Information: If you have received an email or letter from us regarding P432, please email our Metering Team at [email protected] with your site contact information, including name, phone number, and email address.
  2. Site Visit: If a site visit is necessary to update your meter, our third-party experts (MOP) will reach out to arrange a convenient time for the visit.

Will my bills look different moving forward?

What MPANs/sites are affected?

Any MPANs/sites that have previously been settled as Non Half-Hourly with a CT advanced meter will be affected as they move to Half-Hourly settlements. We will let you know which of your sites are impacted.

How long will the process take?

The switch from meters that currently settle Non-Half Hourly (NHH) to settling Half-Hourly (HH) must be completed by M14 in the MHHS Transition Timetable, which is currently scheduled for March 2026 according to the latest documents. You can find out more here.

If your meter requires remote changes, we approximate this to take up to 1 month once we have contacted you.
