SmartestEnergy is proud to be founding sponsors of ‘Net Zero Week’, the UK’s official Net Zero national awareness week, taking place from the 2nd – 8th July 2022.
Net Zero Week is on a mission to raise awareness of the need to radically reduce our carbon emissions to combat the effects of climate change. At SmartestEnergy, we are focused on driving the transition to a low carbon future and are keen to support Net Zero Week, engaging in the discussion against climate change and highlighting our support of the green agenda.
Robert Groves, CEO of SmartestEnergy comments:
“With net-zero targets firmly in place, we are committed to transitioning this business into a wholly renewable company. As part of our commitment, we’re proud to be founding sponsors of Net Zero Week driving the conversation and sharing insightful content to show our active support towards the UK’s net-zero carbon emissions reduction. We believe that educating the wider community is a big step in our journey to net-zero, and we’re focused on empowering a greener generation.”
To celebrate Net Zero Week, we are hosting our annual Net Zero Week Festival at Canary Wharf on Thursday, 7th July, and this year are excited to announce that this will be our first fully net-zero event! We are taking the extra steps to be environmentally conscious and will be encouraging our guests to complete our carbon offsetting survey, from which we can calculate and offset their emissions, as well as our own event-related emssions, supporting global offsetting projects and making this a fully net-zero event!
We look forward to an exciting day packed full of insightful content and engaging panel discussions featuring expert speakers from UK renewable generation projects, leading corporates, energy consultants, sustainability experts and fascinating examples of climate action!
Following the content sessions, we hope you can join us outside for our outdoor festival activities! We will be accompanied by the chairperson of the EV Association, bringing their EV bus and cars to learn more about EVs and explore interactive EV charging demos. You can also enjoy locally sourced alcoholic beverages and soft drinks from our Eco Bar, grab a bite to eat from our Vegan menu using locally grown, fresh produce and enjoy music entertainment from DJ Sassy Wylie!
