In the first of many BESS origination deals, we have partnered with a leading energy company, with renewable projects installed worldwide, to develop their first BESS asset in the UK. We have enabled them to tap into multiple revenue streams, spanning traded markets, ancillary services and balancing, plus ensuring long-term asset health optimisation.

 Since 2022, SmartestEnergy invested heavily in an asset optimisation platform with expert technology partner, KrakenFlex. With our platform, delivering analysis into real-time market data, grid connections and weather forecasts, the company received rapid valuation and pricing of a multitude of asset types globally. This data-driven approach optimises asset cycling, helping to maximise efficiency and extend the life of their BESS asset.    

Harnessing our digital expertise, we structured a bespoke deal to support our valued partner in developing their own asset optimisation solution, aligning with their specific objectives, risk tolerance, and long-term asset management goals. Additionally, we effectively manage their risk through robust hedging strategies, ensuring financial security throughout the asset's lifespan.

We worked closely with the storage asset company to understand their unique needs as a battery asset owner, and developed a tailored solution that effectively addresses their requirements.
