The system operator has set out its finalised plans for reforms to accelerate grid connections.
The National Energy System Operator (NESO) said if the proposals are approved by Ofgem they would enforce new delivery requirements and eliminate stalled projects to make way for more clean power projects.
The reforms will offer faster connections for viable projects and a more co-ordinated and efficient network design
Matt Vickers, Director of Connections Reform, NESO, said passing the package of proposals to Ofgem to consider was a “critical moment”.
Ofgem is expected to return its decision on the reforms in the first quarter of this year.
