UK offshore wind pipeline is world’s second-largest

The UK continues to have the second largest pipeline of offshore wind projects in the world, according to latest data.

RenewableUK’s Offshore Wind EnergyPulse Insights report shows the UK currently has a pipeline of 96GW across 123 projects.

China remains the global leader with a pipeline of 247GW across 437 projects. The US is third with 79GW, Germany fourth (68GW) and Sweden fifth (55GW):

The report also shows the global capacity of fully operational offshore wind farms has now reached 80.9GW, up from 70.2GW twelve months ago, an increase of 15%. Some 63% of the new offshore wind capacity was in China and the Netherlands.
