Almost £20m has been awarded to 63 heat network schemes across England and Wales to help improve efficiency and reliability.
The Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES) was launched to help improve existing heat networks by enabling optimisation studies to identify actions to optimise heat network operation and deliver improvements.
The 7th round of the Government-backed scheme, which is open to businesses and public sector organisations, saw the largest funding round to date.
Louise Singleton, HNES Programme Manager at Gemserv, said: “We are beginning to see the fruits of optimisation studies funded in earlier rounds, as applicants return to the scheme for capital funding to help implement their study’s recommendations."
